Akash Raja, a resident of Shikohabad in Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh, runs an organization called Royal Krishna Ki Pathshala under the Shri Royal Krishna Foundation. This initiative provides free education to underprivileged children.
Akash Raja, along with his friend Ashish Yadav, started this mission in 2018 with the aim of improving the future of children from disadvantaged backgrounds. The organization operates in five locations in Shikohabad, where more than 430 children come daily to receive education.
The inspiration to start this initiative came to Akash Raja after seeing children begging on the streets of India. He wanted to bring a positive change in their lives and decided to dedicate 1-2 hours of his time daily to teach them. As more people learned about this mission, they joined Akash and Ashish, expanding the team and their efforts.
Providing free education to underprivileged children came with its own set of challenges. At one point, rumors spread that Akash and Ashish’s team would abduct children after teaching them, causing tension among parents. However, the team managed to clarify their genuine intentions and resolve the situation.
As a result of the efforts of Shri Royal Krishna Foundation, many children have graduated from the program and enrolled in other institutions for further education. Around 80% of these children join government schools, while those with better academic performance secure admissions in private schools.
Initially, Akash and Ashish funded this initiative themselves, but now they receive support from people who contribute small amounts, typically ranging from ₹100 to ₹200.
Various individuals and organizations also contribute by providing bags, clothes, stationery items, and even sweaters for the children.
Akash’s dream for the future is to establish a residential school where underprivileged children can both live and study. He aims to address challenges faced by children admitted to prominent schools, such as the lack of basic necessities like washing clothes.
The ultimate goal is to provide essential resources and create an environment that promotes equality and fosters a positive mindset.
