She for Society did not begin as an NGO – it began as a conviction. In November 2020, when uncertainty gripped the world and communities were pushed to the edge, a group of women bikers chose movement over fear and action over silence.
What started as rides with purpose soon evolved into India’s pioneering women bikers’ NGO, driven by a simple yet powerful belief: Ride for a Purpose with Passion.
At the heart of this movement is Harshini Venkatesh, Founder and President—biker, leader, and women empowerment activist—who envisioned a platform where courage on the road could translate into courage in communities.
Alongside her are founding members Kavitha Prabhakar, a cloud auditor and cybersecurity professional, and Shalini Deepak, holistic healer and Treasurer, forming a leadership team that blends discipline, empathy, and execution.
What differentiates She for Society is not symbolism—it is scale and substance. With a growing force of 500+ women bikers and 70+ active volunteers, the organization operates across Karnataka with a sharp focus on digital literacy, women and child empowerment, inclusion, and sustainability. In just three years, She for Society has digitally empowered over 35,000 government school students, turning access into opportunity and awareness into action.
The organization’s impact is anchored in its flagship mission: Digital Literacy in Rural Karnataka. While the state hosts over 826 Morarji Desai, Kittur Rani Channamma, and Ambedkar Residential Schools, access to basic computer education remains uneven. She for Society stepped into this gap with an execution-first approach—partnering with headmasters, district authorities, and village panchayats to identify schools in urgent need.
Each digital center is thoughtfully built—not symbolically inaugurated. From computers, UPS systems, furniture, and printers to long-term monitoring, the focus remains on sustainability.
Today, 42 computer training centers across 26 districts stand as proof of what structured intent can achieve—serving minority students, rural communities, and families of ex-servicemen alike. The goal ahead is bold and clear: 100 Digital Learning Centers by 2027.
Beyond education, She for Society’s footprint spans some of the largest patriotic and inclusion-focused rides in the country. From Ride with Soldiers and Kargil Vijay Diwas to Run with Soldiers, Women Premier League rides with RCB, and India’s first-ever ride with the transgender community, every initiative blends visibility with voice. These are not just rides—they are statements of unity, dignity, and national pride.
When COVID-19 brought the world to a standstill, She for Society accelerated. Their riders became Corona Warriors, completing over 14 relief projects—delivering ration kits, medicines, food packets, ambulance support, and hope to thousands. “When the world paused, SHE rode forward” became more than a phrase; it became a lived reality.
Sustainability runs parallel to empowerment. From planting 20,000 seed balls and creating biodiversity parks to lake rejuvenation and promoting natural farming through desi cow donations, She for Society ensures that progress never comes at the cost of the planet.
Innovation also defines the movement. Through its Luxury Travel for a Cause initiative, She for Society reimagined fundraising—curating cultural and spiritual journeys that generated impact. From Hampi’s heritage trails and Chidambaram’s spiritual retreats to Kerala Boat Race editions, the Kumbh Mela pilgrimage for 108 devotees, and even the Chiang Mai Lantern Festival, these experiences turned travel into transformation.
Recognition has followed naturally. With honors ranging from the Mahatma Gandhi Darshan Puraskar and Karnataka Mahila Ratna Award to national media features and representation at Rashtriya Ekta Diwas 2022 in Delhi, She for Society stands today as a nationally respected movement. Yet, accolades remain secondary to purpose.
She for Society is not just an NGO—it is a sisterhood in motion. A movement with swag, strength, and soul. The first women bikers’ NGO to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with ex-soldiers’ families. A platform where style meets service, and courage fuels change.
As the organization accelerates toward 2027, its call is clear: partner, participate, and propel impact. Because when women lead from the front—on roads and in society—communities rise, futures transform, and nations move forward.
